Dr. Fingerman graduated with honors from the UAB School of Optometry in 1987. He has been a member of the American Optometric and Alabama Optometric Associations. He opened Dr. Optical in 1989 with the expressed purpose of providing quality eyecare to the people in the Clay, Chalkville, Pinson, Trussville and Centerpoint areas. Dr. Fingerman is very proud of the multi-generational families he has as patients and that patients come to see him from as far away as Europe.

Dr. Fingerman has been married for 29 years to his wife, Cathy. They have 3 children (Shera, Levi and Seth) and 1 dog (Chief-a Rhodesian Ridgeback mix which was a humane society rescue).

Dr. Fingerman has been active in Temple Beth El. He has also been active in various community organizations including Trussville BNI and Clay Chamber of Commerce.
